Welcome to the Nova Southeastern University

Medical Insurance Waiver System

All Health Professional Division, Undergraduate Day and On Campus Residential Students may use this site to waive off of the 2013-2014 Nova Southeastern University Student Health Insurance Plan. Students enrolled in BUS, SBE, CPS, Ocean, CIS, Law, SHSS programs are not required to have insurance.

Staying healthy is an important part of your success at Nova. Please take a few minutes to review your current policy, and make sure you are adequately covered. Many HMO's provide limited coverage away from their service area, and most employer plans will not cover dependents beyond a certain age. If you are not adequately insured while you are at school, you will not be allowed to waive. If you are not sure, please contact your current carrier.

If your current carrier provides limited dependent coverage in South Florida, you are encouraged to enroll in the Nova Southeastern University Student Health Insurance Plan, provided by Florida Blue. The Plan includes comprehensive inpatient and outpatient coverage at an affordable cost. In addition, benefits can be coordinated with any coverage you may have, and the cost of this Student Health Insurance Plan may be less than the annual out of pocket on many plans!

Highlights include:

  • Annual Student Premium of $1,988
  • 100% coverage for Covered Medical Expenses at NSU's Health Care Center
  • Comprehensive coverage 24 hours a day, anywhere in the world
  • Access to local and national Preferred Providers through Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • $500,000 maximum per benefit period, all medical services combined
  • National prescription drug card program
  • $10,000 limit Medical Evacuation and Repatriation
